How do I get access to my digital reader?
After you have ordered a digital reader, you will receive an order confirmation email with a redeem code. You can redeem this code in your Bookshelf account. Once you have entered the code, your digital reader is available. If you do not have a Bookshelf account yet, register here. Creating an account is free. We recommend using a private email address when registering. If you have finished your education you will always keep access to Bookshelf.
Why are digital readers in Bookshelf?
VitalSource Bookshelf is an inspiring, easy-to-use and intuitive app to enhance your reading, studying and learning experience. Bookshelf allows you to do much more when you order a digital reader compared to a regular PDF reader. A few examples:
- In Bookshelf, you can create and name your own highlighters. All the text you highlight with such a highlighter can be exported to a summary.
- You have the option of creating flashcards. With these you create a "question and answer game" which can help you learn and practice parts of the material.
- You can collaborate and discuss online with your fellow students who have the same reader. Send each other links of sections of selected text and post messages to them.
- Another advantage: a reader in Bookshelf is always available online via the website.
- In addition, you can download the Bookshelf app for laptop, tablet or phone. In this app, you can also use the reader offline. So you are not dependent on the Internet. There is a maximum usage of two mobile devices and two PCs or laptops per account.
